Winter flights to Durango start this week
Continental Express from Houston and Adventure Tours from Dallas

Durango, CO - Flights from Houston and Dallas to Durango commence this week for the winter season. Continental Express will run daily direct round-trip flights from Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport to the Durango-La Plata County Airport, and Adventure Tours will offer 4 round-trip flights per week from Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport.

According to Bob Kunkel, Senior Vice-President of Durango Mountain Resort, "The resort, and a handful of tourism businesses, have again made this important connection possible for our customers by providing financial incentives and marketing support to both Continental and Adventure Tours."

Beginning December 12, 2002, Continental Express will resume daily direct flights between Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and the Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO). The flight will leave Houston at 9:30 a.m. CST and arrive in Durango at 11:10 a.m. MST. The plane will depart Durango at 11:45 a.m. MST and arrive in Houston at 2:59 p.m. CST. The route will be serviced by the 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 ExpressJet.

As a regional air carrier to Continental Airlines, Continental Express offers more than 1,000 daily departures to 110 cities from its hubs in Cleveland, Houston and New York. Continental Airlines has been named "Airline of the Year" by Air Transport World magazine twice in the past five years. Continental Express serves more than 7.8 million customers annually, and OnePass frequent flyer miles can be redeemed anywhere in the world Continental and its partner airlines fly.

Adventure Tours will offer 2 flights per week from December 19, 2002-March 13, 2003, on Thursdays and Sundays, with two additional flights from February 14-March 10, 2003, on Fridays and Mondays. Serviced by a B-737-200, flights will depart Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) at 5:00 p.m. CST and arrives at Durango at 5:36 p.m. MST. The return will depart Durango at 6:40 p.m. MST and arrive in Dallas at 9:22 p.m. CST.

"This will be the 24th consecutive year Adventure Tours has flown non-stop ski charter flights to Durango. We are excited to offer this service to our customers," said Todd Johnson, vice-president and general manager of Adventure Tours USA in an earlier interview.

Adventure Tours offers air-only and air/hotel vacations to Durango. Three, four or seven night vacations are available. Evening departures assure skiers and riders 3 full days on the mountain on a 3-night trip and 4 full days on a 4-night trip. All vacation packages include nonstop roundtrip air from Dallas/Fort Worth, hotel accommodations and roundtrip airport/hotel transfers. Air/hotel vacations start at just $299.95 for three days skiing/riding and three nights-.

Kunkel added, "Dallas and Houston are Durango's number one and two tourism markets, and they are a 15 hour and 18 hour drive away respectively. Providing the alternative of direct air access is critical because people want to spend less time and hassle getting places, and enjoy more time with their friends and family."
